Gabriel Freeman (born November 5, 1985) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the London Lightning of the National Basketball League of Canada. He previously played professional basketball for the Albany Patroons in the Continental Basketball Association and after winning the Best Import of the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference and steering the Beermen to its unprecedented 18th title. Soon afterwards, he led the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry to the Premier Basketball League championship before joining the Philippine Patriots in the Asean Basketball League.

He briefly played for the Albany Patroons in the CBA where he helped them to reach the finals but unfortunately didn't win, losing 2-1 is the series against Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry. It was here that he gained attention of PBA scouts. In 15 games with the Patroons, he averaged 14.3 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game.
He was chosen by the San Miguel Beermen as their 2009 import leading the star studded team to a 7 straight wins, Best League record and an outright semis berth. He competed at the 2009 PBA Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star Week but lost to David Noel, 82-81, in the imports division. In the last two games before the playoffs he was sidelined because of flu and was temporarily replaced by Chris Williams. He returned into form during the semifinals against the 4th seeded Burger King Whoppers in which they won by 6 games and leading San Miguel to the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference Finals where he was awarded the Best Import of the conference and was the 1st San Miguel Import to be awarded this century, Awarded during the opening ceremony of the 2nd game of the Fiesta Conference Finals while Jayjay Helterbrand was awarded the best player of the conference.[1]
He did not fail his team and with a hard-fought battle between Ginebra and their fans, he led the San Miguel franchise to its 18th Championship, which was also his career first. PBA fans credited his heart and hardwork as a big factor in their victory.[2]
On the 12th of July, 2010, it was announced on the Townsville Crocodiles twitter account that Freeman would play for the Crocodiles in the 2010/11 season. In December 2010, Freeman decided to leave the Crocs for family reasons and to go back to the Philippines.
On October 21, 2011, it was announced that Freeman had made the final 12-man roster for the National Basketball League of Canada's London Lightning. [3]
On November 6, Freeman was named the first ever NBL Canada Player of the Week for the week ending that day. [4]
